First United Boeing 747-400 with new livery back in service

Just recently a United Airlines Boeing 747-400 returned to service wearing the new livery. Finishing the paint job on the 1st B-747 United has now at least one of each of their mainline fleet and 304 aircrafts overall painted in the new livery. In the month ahead United will start to re-brand airport facilities and launch new advertising campaigns.

First United Airlines Airbus A319 in new livery

An A319 showing the new livery was ferried from the paint shop in Greenville Miss., to Chicago yesterday. From there,  the A319 was put back in service for its first revenue flight in the new livery to Denver, CO. 

Currently, another  A319 and two A320's Airbus planes from United are at the paint shop in Mississippi.

Update on United & Continental repainting process

United Airlines reports that 2010 ended with 77 mainline airplanes featuring the new livery. The majority of them are Continental aircrafts since that livery requires less work than the one from United. CO has completed painting 70 planes of various types. UA has repainted seven Boeing 777 with the most recent one out of the paint shop last Tuesday. Additional 17 UA planes will be repainted in January. By the end of 2011 UA expects to have more than 250 mainline planes repainted. See a time laps on the paint job here

First United Airlines owned Boeing 777 in new livery

The first UA plane repainted in the new livery returned to service November 23rd. The B777 was ferried to Los Angeles from the painting facility in Amarillo, Texas. In LAX it returned to revenue service for a flight to Washington Dulles. United has started to repaint another of its 777 in Victorville, California. By the end of 2010 a total of 7 Boeing 777 will have been completed. Currently 32 narrow and wide bodies from Continental have been repainted and another 6 are currently in the paint shop. United Airlines Unveils Oprah's Fare Well Tour Jet

United Airlines today unveiled The Oprah Winfrey Show Farewell Season Plane. The Boeing 757 aircraft is newly painted – from nose to tail – with imagery from The Oprah Winfrey Show Farewell Season. Onboard the aircraft, customers will notice a specially decorated interior and will be greeted by a special onboard video welcome from Oprah Winfrey. New United livery on Boeing 737 from Continental

The United and Continental merger is due to close October 1st. This Boeing 737 which is the 1st plane showing the new livery will fly from Houston, the homebase of Continental, to United's homebase in Chicago to commemorate this special day for the two combined airlines.
