Behind-The-Scenes: Your Bag's Journey On Delta

Ever wondered what happens to your bag once you checked it in?
This clip shows the journey of a suitcase equipped with 6 cameras from check-in, trough the maze of conveyor belts and shoots in the baggage sorting, onto a plane and back to baggage claim. The clip is part of a Delta advertising campaign of a new feature called mobile baggage tracking launched by the carrier last November.

US airlines collect over $900 million in baggage fees between July and September

Thats 23% more compared to the same period in 2010. Over the 1st nine month in 2010 US carriers brought in $2.6 billion. The biggest profiteer was Delta with $1.6 billion collected in fees. Full story

Sh*t happens! Luggage ruined by sewage spill at Heathrow Airport

A waste pipe burst at Heathrow airport damaged over 200 pieces of luggage. BAA who operates the airport will pay up to $1600 per bag to settle the damage. A source said: "It was a nightmare. Gallons of raw sewage came spewing out. The stench was appalling" according to the mirror.co.uk. Full story
